We're taking advantage of the free birthday ticket aboard the Catalina Express to spend the day on Santa Catalina Island. We started the day off right with mimosas, of course.

Garden to Sky Hike

We hiked the Garden to Sky trail which starts at the Wrigley Botanic Gardens and, at its summit, has great views of both sides of the island. We finished the hike by meandering through the garden. There were a number of cacti from California, South Africa, and Mexico.Read more

We walked around Avalon a bit and then stopped in to the Lobster Trap for lunch. We both ordered the grilled sea bass sandwich. We grabbed a free birthday hiking map (for future visits) from the Catalina Conservancy Center before boarding the Catalina Express to head back to the mainland.Read more
