Kingscote

Visit to one of the main towns on KI...Kingscote. Kingscote was the first settlement on KI due to its close proximity to the coast. There is a historic town through has been built to commemorate the first settlement.
The original police station and jail are still standing and have been preserved by the local historical society.
Some of the homes in Kingscote have been restored to their former pioneer glory and provide a glimpse into earlier times.
The foreshore has nesting boxes in place for small penguins however some of them seemed dilapidated so unsure of how effective it is.Les mer
