    What a stunning National Park- a World Heritage Site with multiple lakes and cascading waterfalls.
    We did a 5 km walk to see the highlights… the Croations are not very imaginative with their names … they call things as they see them eg Big Waterfall, White rock.
    This part of the world has been significant during their wars as it is close to their borders and the Villagers have been displaced many times . However they are a resilient lot and last night we had a talk by a very entertaining storyteller named Sonja who decided she would put their village Licko on the map by resurrecting an old custom to preserve future generations by knitting “Willy Warmers” and marketing them World wide…consequently journalists from all over the world have come to this Village of 145 people to do a story!
