    There is a special olive tree that represents a gift from Athena who the city of Athens is named after . Olive trees are prolific in this part of the World and are considered extremely useful, not just for obvious reasons of oil and fruit but the wood of the olive trees is considered valuable as a beautiful hard wood with fine grains and perfect for carving. Some live for 3000 years ! This one is only from WW 2 era as the original was destroyed in an earthquake, like a lot of ancient things around here.
    We couldn’t believe the amount of people here…average of 20,000 visitors per day. Each paying 30 euros!
