  • Center for Jewish History & Theater

    May 6, 2025 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 59 °F

We went to the Center for Jewish History for the Anne Frank Exhibit that was incredibly done as they rebuilt the Anne Frank house as well as told the detailed story of the Frank family and the story of the World events "before" and "after". In addition we spent a few hours at the Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute and The Wittien Coloman Reference Services Division there and the YIVO Institute exhibit (we had heard the CEO of Yivo speak last week at a Holocaust event at Chapman in CA).

After "decompressing" we went to Broadway and theater. We had a wonderful time with the music of Alicia Keys at Hell's Kitchen!

There was signage, and instructions outside each room, with scrubs, lotions and other items that were matched with that room. Here are some of the rooms. We also did two treatments: foot and eye treatments.Read more

  • New York "Scene" & Broadway Sessions

    May 8, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

Tom Otterness, an American "PUBLIC" sculptor, has works in parks, plazas, subway stations, libraries, courthouses and museums around the world (notably in the Life Underground in the 14th Street – Eighth Avenue New York Subway station). Lee took us on a "tour"!

Maybe Happy Ending is a South Korean one-act musical following the life-like helper-bots, Oliver and Claire, who discover each other in Seoul in the late 21st century and develop a connection that challenges what they believe is possible for themselves, relationships, and love. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the cast (see photos) of this award winning show (OK< they were the cast but the cast was there to hear them as they were all the understudy)!

  • The Frick and Central Synagogue

    May 9, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 54 °F

We spent the morning with Lee and then off to The Frick where we met Jane and enjoyed the wonderful "new" Frick Collection (it was closed for a five year renovation and expansion of the area allowing in the public).

Then we, once again, had an opportunity to spend the evening in our favorite NYC place, Central Synagogue. We had an opportunity to see and chat with Rabbi Andrew, Rabbi Ari and Cantor Jenna, as well as welcome a new Rabbi Aaron and a new Cantor Beth, both of which we watched grow as interns at Central. A beautiful and meaningful Service and sermon.
