Serving Slovakia: to Amsterdam & Vienna

It was such a kind gesture for both the Edmond's and the Boe's to meet us at PDX to see off the Serving Slovakia team. We're blessed to be part of such a caring church! We arrived in Amsterdam the next morning and took the train from Schipol to the central station. We enjoyed a beautiful canal cruise with a lunch of sandwiches and drinks. In the afternoon, I led a small group on a walking tour through the city. It was a very hot day, so we stopped for ice cream on the way to the Dam Square. We also stopped at a shop to sample a variety of Dutch cheeses and at a pannekoeken shop to share a batch of poffertjes. We had time to see the Begijnhof and Bloemenmarkt. We rode the train back to Schipol around 5 pm and caught our flight to Vienna. Our heads didn't hit the pillow until midnight. It was a long day, but we powered through the jetlag.
