Amber Cove, Dominican Republic

Today, we joined a tour to visit Monkeyland, a nature preserve for squirrel monkeys. We were instructed not to scream or get overly excited when the monkeys jumped on us. Stacy had a hard time following the rules! A swarm of monkeys would jump on us as soon as the guide put food in our hands. Later on, we enjoyed a taste of the Dominican Republic: coffee, hot chocolate, and Mamajuana (a drink made with rum, sweet wine, honey, cinnamon, and medicinal wood). We stopped at a community craft fair to buy a few gifts and take in the handiwork of local artisans.Leia mais
