Day 3 Begins

Today's mountain passes:

Col de la Madeleine

The sound of a plastic garbage bin rolling across the pavement woke me up. Somebody kept rolling that thing back and forth across the courtyard. It was beginning to bother me when I realized it was not the rumble of plastic wheels on rough pavement; it was thunder.
