    The fortified city of Entrevaux was built in the 16th century during the reign of King François 1. Charles V (Holy Roman Emperor) occupied and slaughtered the towns people. The French loyal to François recaptured their town. King François was so impressed that he issued a formal proclamation giving his thanks.Read more
