Day -1: Arriving at St. Jean

It’s my travel day, which took two days. I’m at “the foot of the pass” ( that’s what Pied de Port means) into the Camino. The little 1500 person village caters to the peregrinos. As I mentioned in the video, the essential lesson for the day was to make extra time for the unplanned. The travel went smoothly but only due to copious time planned for travel. It alleviated a great deal of travel stress driving to the airport, and when both flights were delayed, enough time to transfer. I’m hoping the stress free travel day (minus a slight panic that my international phone plan wouldn’t work to contact my airport transport to St. Jean - oh, because it’s NOT an international phone plan!! It’s a data plan only 🤷🏻) is an early sign that this will be a stress-free trip.

Although perhaps the better way to think about it is that when the inevitable stress arrives, notice it, and then deliberately let it go! 🤔

The goal is to just stay awake till 10 pm tonight to level-set the time difference.Leggi altro
