• A prayer candle for our Small Christian Community

Walking Day 4 to Puente La Renia Recap

    June 28, 2024 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 72 °F

We discovered that level three days are a nice mixture of challenging yet manageable, and quite enjoyable. We had well placed rest stops. The end of the day felt like it kept going (and increasingly hot) however. We were happy to arrive at our hotel. I was thrilled to find that we had air conditioning, that was working well! After a nice shower and a decent early pilgrims meal, Jon and and I walked around town. We saw the inside of two churches. One with an interesting Y Cross.

Along the Camino today, I lit a candle for the families of my small Christian community from Presentation Church whom I and my family love dearly. Most of them will be able to join me for the final 100 km of this walk with Mary, the kids, Andrew and his girlfriend Jenna!

Our small Christian community has been a critical part of my life and faith. They have nurtured and supported me as well as Mary and our kids. We are so lucky to have them and will be blessed to spend time walking the Camino with them. A special shout out to MJ, Tim, Liza, and Caroline who while they could not join us on this pilgrimage in person are very much a part of this faith journey. I can’t wait to find ways to incorporate the “flat” Wieland’s into our walk! 😆
