    Travelling to Damaraland

    October 5, 2022 in Namibia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

It was time to leave the beautiful Etosha today. We stopped at the Petrified Forest. So interesting to learn about these trees that are over 250 million years old! From before the dinosaur age. They were exposed to mineral deposits and harsh conditions, they have petrified to stone like. After a picnic lunch there we continued on to Damaraland. This outcropping of red rock has thousands of drawings and depictions left from the Bushmen and Damara people of over 5,000 years ago. They would leave these drawings as information for the people who would follow behind them and story telling for the children of the tribe. The landscape along our route was beautiful and changes every 10 minutes. Namibia is such an interesting country.Read more
