Winding roads bring us to Arenal

Waking up this morning in Arenal. Our base for the next 3 days Los Lagos resort, is at the base of this stunning volcano. Almost always hidden in clouds; we're somewhere around 2500 ft ASV. We had our first taste of the rain forest on a Safari float on the Penas Blancas River and our first sloth and howler monkey sightings. We're told there will be many more. This weather is so interesting. Just surrounding the volcano, its hot and humid one minute... then the clouds dump buckets of rain for a minute or two and then the sun shines again. 5 minutes away from here, it's all sun.
