Trapini Day 2

First port of call today was the town of Erice. It is on top of a standalone mountain at the edge of Trapani - 751m high. Fortunately there is a cable car to get up there. Lots of stone streets that are narrow and winding. We climbed the bell tower, found the fortress, had a bite of lunch at a tiny restaurant and wandered the streets. There were a number of museums with different offerings - one had an Andy Warhole display which was unexpected. We also found an amazing church. Because we are walking Sicily we walked from the cable car down to the bottom of the mountain (it was not a hill) . And treated ourselves with lemon granita - it has become a favourite. Then resting the feet for a bit before heading out for a Sicilian dinner - special twisty pasta with some great sauces (and some good wine 🍷)Read more
