After sleeping surprisingly well on the Tatami mats and futons, we went for the usual touristy Hakone trip, but found out that it rains here 50% of the time. As we were lucky enough to have seen Mt. Fuji from Tokyo we weren't too upset even though the supposedly scenic Hakone ropeway to lake Ashi left a lot to the imagination… Still a lot of fun pretending to be pirates in the mysterious fog rolling off the mountains. 🏴☠️
We enjoyed a nice cuppa and some traditional sweets at an ancient tea house in the hills, and went on the longest suspension bridge in Japan - the Mishima Skywalk. We then made our way to Kyoto. Oh and we bought some more snacks - like soft boiled eggs in sauce. 😁Read more
