    Wasting time in San Jose

    2022年4月20日, コスタリカ ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

So I’ve made a few mistakes this month in doing this trip - I keep putting us in cities for just a little too long than needed. We probably could have cut Mexico shorter by a week or so. San Jose definitely falls in that category. Probably one day would have done it, but yet we’re here 2 1/2 days … Whoops. The one thing I learned by being here, is there’s just not much to see or do in San Jose. 🥺 So we find ourselves just relaxing, catching up on sleep and waiting to move on.

We did head down to the Mercado today which is a massive market for locals, not really tourists. I felt very out of place, but it was an experience to see.

旅行者Just relaxing is a good thing, and so is seeing and even doing as the residents do, like your market trip, not just hitting the tourist stuff. It is nice to start or end the day with a meal at the same local spot, so you get to know and be known, by locals. Even the same paneria or caf`e, sometimes you get invitations to join activities, picnics, home cooked meals. When you find yourself as you did in San Jose, stop in at the library and see what the librarian can fill your time with. and write postcards to yourself....
