We’ve been up about 29 hours, even accounting for the time change - we caught a plane out of Cairo in the morning 9/15 - flew to Abu Dhabi, UAE. Had a layover and then flew to Bangkok, Thailand. Then had another layover and finally made it to our hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam at 7:30 pm 9/16! It was a long trek.
It was such an amazing terrain change, going from the desert of Egypt where there is virtually zero precipitation, to the lush green fields of Vietnam in the end of monsoon season. Personally, I don’t like either extreme.
We arrived in the midst of a huge thunderstorm which dumped buckets on us as we were heading to the hotel. Even coming from Oregon I don’t know if I’ve seen so much rain.
So now off to sleep for a long while! We’ll start exploring in a day or so when we’ve recovered from the journey.Read more
Christie MitchellThere was almost NO fruit in all of Egypt and Jordan. An occasional orange was all we could find. Sometimes a banana. Vietnam appears to be LOADED with fruit so enjoying it immensely!!
Traveler Wow!! That looks yummy!
