Today we headed out by water taxi again - saw our friendly piggies in the street again. Five of them this time. This time up and wandering.
Then we headed to Lumpini park - they call it the Central Park of Bangkok. It was very pretty - they have 400 Monitor lizards living there. They looked a lot like Komodo dragons to me, but apparently are much smaller. We only saw one on the banks, who had just caught a fish and was eating it. Very intimidating.
Then we headed to Chinatown! It was loud, bright, and FULL of life and FOOD! All kinds of food. We ate and ate - tried all different things - and only spent like $15! It was awesome. Stand outs were: coconut cake dessert that was wonderful, noodles with crab, shrimp gyozas and mango sticky rice!!
Where we’re staying there is a family that practices acrobatics every night in the street - we see them when we get back. They’re practicing for a Chinese New Years celebration. We got video of them tonight. The youngest, on the top, is only 5.
Christie MitchellWe stepped out of our Uber and turned to see them. First time it was shocking. They have been out there every night since tho. They say the men standing all around are there to catch the younger ones if they fall. The guy on the bottom is holding like 400 lbs!
