Travel day

We flew from Bangkok to Chiang Mai today. It’s a city in the far north of Thailand in/near the mountains. It is completely different here than Bangkok. Feels like island life, without the islands.

We’re staying in “old town” - built in 1296 as a walled city surrounded my a moat! Most of the walls have come down, but the moat still exists. Only the corner walls and portions of the gates are still intact.

We walked around a bit, found the moat and had some dinner. Hoping this will be a magical time up here in this small city - lots planned and can’t wait to get started!!!!
