Bullet train station - every "gate" is a separate train and they go as far as the eye can see

Booked a window seat ... I guess a sliver of a window is better than none. 🤷‍♀️

Hotel entry - sometimes finding where it is quite the task

They make sure your towels monogram match each guests name. Simple gesture but found it really cool

SO MANY people were swimming in the river - they just kept coming

Where I ate tonight - outdoor seating really nice

Shrimp dumplings - simple but really good. Either served with chili oil or vinegar.

Asked if I wanted water ... and to my surprise brought me a container of HOT water. 🤷‍♀️

Travel to Leshan

Today was a nice easy travel day - I took a late morning bullet train about 85 miles south to a city called Leshan.

Traveling as I’m doing is different than vacationing in many ways but today … had to deal with laundry. China is very unique in that the majority of hotels have washers & dryers on site, for free, with detergent provided. Loving that and going to enjoy it while it’s here.

After checking in went and found dinner, then strolled the water front. To my surprise, people were swimming in the river!! There was quite a current, and they would jump in and then swim against that current - or they jumped in way upstream and floated/swam down. I felt the water - it wasn’t warm, but probably pretty refreshing.

What I miss: my own washer & dryer
