Sassi di Matera

Sassi di Matera was once known as the shame of Italy due to the amount of poverty witnessed there but it is now one the biggest tourist attractions and UNESCO-listed sites.

The Sassi originate from a prehistoric troglodyte settlement and are suspected to be among the first human settlements in Italy. There is evidence that people were living here as early as the year 7000 BC.

Unfortunately, due to the steps Ericka and Jaxon missed out on this part of the trip so I made sure to take a lot of photos for her.Baca lagi
