Salta City

When we arrived on Friday night it was a bit of shock. From our grand designs in the desert with its own owls and a few thousand acres of cacti we arrived in the the middle of a city in the chilly rain. We are staying on the sixth floor of a 1970s tower block built to withstand earthquakes. We are certainly mixing things up. This is another AirBnB which has two lovely hosts and a washing machine!

We are in Salta, a busy city in the northwest of Argentina. Spent a little time visiting the splendid colonial architecture. The churches look especially spiffy as it is Easter. We went out to eat last night at about 10.30 and people were queueing for our table when we left at 11.30. It was amazing food from just a local restaurant. I don't think we are ever going to be able to eat steak in Europe without a crushing sense of disappointment.Читать далее
