We found this restaurant nearby to the hotel and it had good reviews. It had tripe on the menu which had DJ excited so we decided to give it a try. It was a Friday evening and Florence was clearly overrun by tourists so we were worried we wouldn’t find a table but when we arrived we were the only diners. There was not a single other person eating. The restaurant was in a cellar that used to belong to the monastery and they explained that the space had served many other roles since then before becoming the restaurant it is today.

The restaurant was decorated adorably with antiques and interesting art. They were incredibly accommodating to us. It was also one of the few places we’ve been to in the entirety of Italy that actually was playing Italian music instead of old American music which was nice. At the end of the meal he offered us homemade limoncello and DJ was quick to decline but our server (the owner?) was just as quick to insist and not take no for an answer.
