    After a night at a campground we didn’t like (other than the late night swim as seen in the pictures!) and got a refund for, we headed to the beach! Nope…it flooded. So we stopped here for a few days to enjoy the sun and daytimes at the beach and riding around this cute town we can’t get enough of. Highly recommend!Read more

    Lots of fun and freedom here at I.B. Magee! Long bike rides, beach for miles, private sites, sunshine and relaxation.
    We had a RV repair team come out to check on a few things. We have a new, working water pump 👍🏼 so that’s good! The inverter seems like it might be done…I’ll have to start a ticket for a repair or replacement with the manufacturer. The fridge needs two new fans. Ordered, and should be installed by end of the week 🙏 otherwise we are good!Read more

    We were looking for a place more inland to spend a week or so and we found a lovely campground to spend our time! KOA always has what we are looking for it seems. The weather looks a little sketchy so it’s nice to be here where there’s awesome facilities to hang out at. Pool, clubhouse, games, outdoor spaces, places to ride the bikes, fishing piers to visit and shops a few km away. We are looking forward to settling in and maybe staying even longer than a week. We’ll see! We took a short ferry to get here…I don’t know why they haven’t built a bridge 🤔Read more

    Found a busy KOA on the island to spend a couple days before heading to Galveston for a week or so. The “view from the bedroom window” isn’t as scenic as usual 😂. Weather is cooler but so sunny for now (we will appreciate it while we have it). Hoping for a view and some bike rides in our near future!Read more

    Spent New Years Eve here listening to an abundance of roadside purchased fireworks…until bedtime at 1030 🤣 nothing to report really…just another day on the road.
    We had an eventful year!
    Attached is just a small snapshot of some of my favourite moments from 2023. I am so grateful for every moment that has brought me to this one. So many of them happened without a photo, but I love them just as much.

    New Orleans part 2

    Trip the the downtown area went well! Busy and sunny and noisy (and a bit smelly apparently). We took the shuttle from camp which was a tour all on its own. Greg, son of the former owners, has been here since 1995 and knows how to fit a lot of information into a small amount of time 🤣
    Then we went for a walk in the French quarter and settled into a couple of bar stools at Cafe Beignet for brunch (and some beignets of course!). Live music, tiny tables and chairs, street noise and great food was experienced. A short stroll to our hop on hop off bus stop and we were on our way. It was a feast for the eyes and ears. Met some nice people, had some laughs, close traffic calls and enjoyed the sunshine from the top deck of the open air bus. As the loop was coming to an end, we both decided we’d like to do it one more time! A new announcer and a few detours had us on a different tour altogether learning new things and meeting new people.     What a cute little town! HGTV has made it what it is…it’s Ben and Erin Napier’s Hometown everywhere you look but there are lots of other great things to see too. Our camp spot about 8 minutes out of town is wonderful. Woodsy, scenic and the people are awesome. Ducks too!Read more

    What a beautiful campground! It’s a city park with event centres, day use areas, a golf course, disc golf course, gazebos, fishing, boating, tenting, baseball and a large area for RV’s backing right on Citronelle Lake. Ducks and birds and trees in abundance. It is a cold week, but not too bad.
    The town isn’t much but I enjoyed checking it out and the grocery store is lovely 🤣
    It’s our last stop before Gulf Shores! Dad and Chris stay at the Beach Club and we can’t wait to spend some time with them there. 🥰    Read more

    Dad and Chris visit here most years and I haven’t been since I was in my 30’s 😂 but it’s as lovely as I remember! We’ve had a lot of rain and wind but the sky’s are clearing and we can do more things. Looking forward to exploring the area and “camping” for a while somewhere close by before heading out again on this journey. Florida? Georgia? South Carolina? Maybe all 3. 💕Read more

    It’s my birthday! After a movie yesterday (Ordinary Angels) and a quiet morning at the condo I got treated to lunch at Acme Oyster House. It was delicious and I ordered some of my faves (gumbo, hush puppies, grilled shrimp with sweet potato fries) Yum! Then a Key Lime Pie back at the condo for dessert 🥰 some time on the beach finished off my birthday weekend! Thanks Dad and Chris!     Last chance to shop at Vera Bradley! 😂 I don’t know why, but I love that store…so many different things you can’t find anywhere else. Flowers and colour and happiness! Decided to stay another week at the campground we stayed at before. Enjoyed lots of pool time and some bike riding around town. Until one of the bikes broke…replacement is on the way!

    To continue our HGTV tour (😂) we are at Camp Sherrye on the Coosa in Wetumpka….the town featured on Home Town Takeover Season 1. Home of the Big Fish House. North of the Gulf of Mexico (more than a few miles north anyway) for the first time in a while, we are in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, home of a 5 mile wide impact crater from 85 million years ago. We haven’t explored too much yet but I’m looking forward to doing so as we wait for the new Big Dog to arrive.Read more
