    I LOVE TRAVELING BY BUS

    The most cheapest public transport way to travel is to taking the bus. So we went from Halong Bay back to Hanoi and then further to Hoi An. We started at 10.00am and arrived at 12.00pm the next day🙈 Food wasn't the best we had, but we're still alive and as soon as we checked in in our very nice hostel we took the bike and drove to the beach. FIRST TIME FOR ME SINCE I AM TRAVELLING. :)

    But we realized very soon, that we were the only people. Maybe because it's winter for them, but we still got sun burned.😂    Okumaya devam et

    Meeting local rice farmers

    Because Hoi An is surounded by thousands of rice fields, we wanted to see how this works!

    Best idea we had, just go to the fields and asked one of the farmers to help them out. Feeling on our own body how it is to put the rice seedlings in the water under the hot sun. With a little help for the communication from our guest house "mother", they showed us how it works and we helped them.
    Nice to have a private tour and speak with the locals, I just loved it!

    Jim (the guy from the photo) passed by and took us to different rice fields and to his familiy afterwords.

    Btw: Martina and I did the front of the field from one of the photo. Guess you can see from 100km that we are beginners :) And is it just me or does Martina already looks like an Asia girl? ;)    Okumaya devam et

    Lunch @ Jim's familiy

    After the rice fields, Jim brought us to some friends where they showed us how to pottery a cup.

    Then he invited us to his family. A lot of people for such a small house but everybody was very friendly. They played cards and gave us homemade rice schnaps. After the grandfather prayed for all the food they served a big variation of Vietnamese food. Not sure if everybody belongs to the family, or if they only came because they had 2 blonde girls at their house. :) Anyway, it was delicious and something I will never forget. A lot of vegetables and fruits (even from the tree in the garden) I never saw in my life before.

    CLASS DAY

    8.45am YOGA CLASS
    Finally we made it to a yoga class, and this was really strong. Martina brought me and some other beginners to a Ashtanga class, sweating after a minute was programm and mussle sore for 3 days. But damn, it felt sooo good ;)

    2.00pm UNIVERSITY VISIT
    Jan, a India gentleman we met at our hostel had a class at the universitiy of Hoi An about ecotourism. He spoke about ecolocical traveling and tourism in Vietnam and in generell, very intressting! At the end, Martina and I had a little guest talk in front of class... was defentely a cool experience!

    4.30pm COOKING CLASS
    Ly, the owner from hostel was so nice to organize a private cooking class for us in her kitchen. We learned how to prepare Vietnamese fried rice rolls, pancakes and a very tasty traditional recipe of chicken noodles.

    The Vietnamese kitchen is very simple but also very delicious! Try to cook some food when I am home for my friends ;)    Okumaya devam et

    Mount Marble

    Because the wheather was really bad on our last day, we decided to rent a scooter and drove to a little mountain around 20km away.

    This mountain is very special because there were only women praying and all the Buddhas were female. Nice day trip, but very cold.

    Now we are ready to go to the south, hoping the sun is wiating... another 12h night bus drive brought us to Nha Thrang.    Okumaya devam et

    Not a lot to tell about this city, except that it's full of Russian people. Locals can speak better in Russian then English. Look kind of funny though!

    On the second pic you see a typical sandwich from Vietnam. They sell it everywhere in Vietnam on the streets. It's as famous for tourists as for locals... delicious and nice midnight snack!

    And not only Asia people love to make selfies everywhere;)

    Farmer city

    Dalat is a stronghold of plantations and farmers. Everywhere you see thousands of flowers, coffee plantations, silk factories, weasl poo coffee, rice wine (it's more a schnaps, up to 60vol %), cricket farms (I wasn't able to eat them)🙈Okumaya devam et

    Ho Chi Minh city

    Our last big city visit in Vietnam is late Saigon. It's also a place, where they still wishing you a happy new year. :)
    We think the city is very different to Hanoi. You can feel, that there was a big war not a long time ago. The city is also a bit more modern and has more "western" shops and restaurants such as starbucks etc. (Which you can only find there) There we went to the war museum, which is very interessting and at the same time very sad.

    The traffic is massiv -the scooters even drives on the sidewalk during the rush hours. But otherwise we thought it's much easier to walk around then in Hanoi.

    At 22.30 we took the local sleeping bus to Hatien, where we arrived at 5.00am. So we waited 2 hours in hammocks until the first ferry drove us to our last destination in Vietnam - PHU QUOC

    MORE THAN HONEY

    Since 3 days, we are on Phu Quoc island. It's also my last destination together with Martina.

    Today we went to a bee farm. While we ate breakfast there, the friendly staff explained us a lot about the "circle of life" from the bees. It was so interesting!!
    They also have a lot of local fruits and plants, that's why the honey tastes soo good. :) Another nice attractaion was the little mushroom tent, where they grow shitake in a very special way. Just great!

    The place is very lovely and definitely a visit worth!

    Fisherman's friend

    Phu Quoc is really a fisher island. Unfortunately I don't like seafood, but for people who like it, I guess it's a paradise. You can eat everything what comes from the sea. They also offer you shark everywhere, that's a sad fact because as far as I know there are not a lot left.

    If you are driving around the island with a motorbike you will pass a lot of fisher villages. The smell is maybe not the best, but the atmosphere is barnstorming.

    Our last days we spend on Phu Quoc island, which was a really nice ending of the Vietnam trip. We met so many nice people, saw how people live and work, experienced beautiful places all over the country and swim in the sea with the little shining plankton, showered in the jungle under the stars,...

    It was also time to say good bye to Martina who joined me on the Vietnam trip. Thank you very much for beeinf just an amazing travel buddy, it was a blast and I will never forget it! 😘

    Next step: walking through the Cambodia border and waiting hours for the visa... after that I arrived in Sihanoukville!    Okumaya devam et

    Welcome to Cambodia

    When I walk up my fisrt morning in Sihanoukville, I really had no plan what to do in Cambodia. But really quickly it was clear that I will love this country. As soon as I arrived I met so many nice people! Especially at the otres beach II. I extended my overnight 5 times... so not a lot to say about how much I like it!

    The whole atmosphere was so nice and do you know this feeling, when you just feel very happy. It's almost like to be in love with butterflies in the belly. 😜

    After some nice days wirh lovely people, a bunch of the cutest puppies ever, a unforgettable jungle party I will visit the island to relax.    Okumaya devam et

    Koh rong Samloem

    The pictures says everything! This place is just amazing and the best place to relax so far. There is really not a lot to do on this island, except to walk around, explore the jungle and find the nicest beaches and enjoying the besutiful sunsets in the evening. Finnally I really had time for myself:)

    There is also no wifi, some nice restaurants and bars, clear water, little fishes and everywhere you see some volunteers who helps the locals to build new houses and making paintings...

    After those relaxing days, I will visit an yoga ashram for a week. I really looking forward to this experience!

    THAI BREAK

    Definitely the "luxus" part from my trip! I slept in one of the best resorts on the island, had also my own bungalow for myself for nothing! Can't imagine something better! Awesome people, delocious food, amazing beaches. What more do you want?

    Koh Samui

    Before I go to Koh Phangan I made a stopp over in Kos Samui. My friend Mindra works in a resort and invited me to live there. I had 2 awesome days with her. Lovely beaches, healthy food and some shopping.

    Koh Phangan

    Time is running fast...

    I still have more than for 4 weeks in Asia, but it already feels like the last days are finishing quicker🙈 the last couple of days I spend on the beautiful island Koh Phangan.

    As soon as I arrived on the island, Daniela picked me up and I felt kind of home from the first second. I met her in January in north Thailand. She showed me around and introduced me to all of her friends, she visited the island for a few times already... we had great days and great nights! Will definitely go back to this island when I am around. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of pictures from there, maybe I was too busy😜

    Gili Air / Air festival

    I've just spent 6 nights on gili air, my first destination in Bali and it's really beautiful! There was also a festival going on where I met some old friends from my trip and also a lot of new ones. :)

    After 3 days, my friend Laura arrived from Switzerland.

    Unfortunately Gili T is not really worth to visit at the moment. Because of the gouverment, they had to break down all the houses and bars at the beach, so the whole island is like a big construction... the beaches are also full of trash because nobody cleans it anymore...

    But anyway, our bungalow was really nice:)

    Balian

    Because a friend invited us to his birthday party we went to Balian. It's more in the north and even a lot of locals don't know wher it is...

    Endless beaches (black sand), no tourists, great surfing, jungle, some really nice restaurants. We just loved it sooo much!

    Also the villa where we were invited was so great! Amazing view and nice people! Really think about to rent it too one day...:)

    Next stop Canggu / hope it is not too crowded after this magic and natural place...    Okumaya devam et
