Prolaz Ždrelac

Left Zadar at 0700 while we were having breakfast. Very hot today, about 30c at 0900. Our bike ride started at Preko and finished at Tkon. Trip was about 32kms and we’re were able to stop off for a cold drink or a swim halfway! Opted for the cold drink, too hot to battle the togs. We stopped off at a local condiment and cosmetic manufacturing business! It was so hit with 32 people craned into this small space I had sweat running down my face waiting to be served!
Cecily came to grief on a steep part of the route just before an intersection, where there was a pile up of cyclists trying to apply enough ‘turbo’ to get to the top of the route. She fell on her right side and has injured her shoulder, probably her rotator cuff. Not much in the way of healthcare, Dr gave her a sling , but he didn’t have access to an ultrasound etc.
she had emailed her GP for advice.
A Dr and two Swiss nurses emerged, along with a physio and the three of us! She might get a scan in HK or wait till she gets home.
The boat motored to Vodice, where the temp was 33c! We decided to wait till it cooled down a bit we went exploring! Lucy, Euan, Cecily and I set off to check out what was the usual ice-cream and dress shops! There are also countless restaurants - and apparently the visitor numbers are down! I have no idea how the all survive. The scenery today was just beautiful, as we were riding closer to the coast! Missed a trick/ should have bought a retirement house here! We would also need a boat.
