• Day 25 - Leeds to Coventry

    July 11, 2023 in England ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

During the Middle Ages, Coventry became an important centre for the cloth trade. It was also a significant religious centre, with many monasteries and churches being built in the city. In the 16th century, Coventry became a centre for the watchmaking industry. During the Second World War, Coventry suffered significant damage from German bombing raids. The city was rebuilt post-war, with many modernist buildings being constructed.
