Östermalms Saluhall is a historic food hall that has been a cornerstone of Swedish culinary culture since its opening in 1888. Designed by architects Isak Gustaf Clason and Kasper Salin, the building features striking Art Nouveau architecture, characterised by a warm brick façade and intricate ironwork. Initially slow to attract vendors, the hall flourished after the city banned open-air food sales in 1914, transforming it into a bustling marketplace. Today, it offers a refined blend of traditional Swedish fare and international delicacies, with vendors selling a wide range of items, including fresh seafood, meats, pastries, and cheeses.Read more
