    Pioneer Sq, Seattle, WA

    July 23, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

This area of Seattle is beautiful with an old world charm. It doesn't feel like you are right by the stadiums. Street parking is at a premium but there are many parking lots. We had a great lunch at Delicatus "A Seattle Delicatessen". We had the BLT which was awesome and cup of oyster chowder which was good but I still prefer calm chowder.Read more

    Portland, OR Aerial Tram

    July 25, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

The aerial tram in Portland is a quick and cheap adventure. It is only $4.55 for a round trip. A few things to note, your ticket will be taken at the bottom because the ride down is technically free and the tram ends at the hospital and there is nothing really to do on the other side. There are some great observation decks off the hospital. The tram does swing at times so if you have issues with that, take heed. Lastly, try and go on a clear day and you can see both Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood.Read more

    Galloping Gertie, Tacoma, WA

    July 26, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

This is also known as the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. In 1940, less than a year after its opening, twisted violently on a windy day and collapsed. The rebuilt bridge runs from Tacoma over to Gig Harbor. There is a separate bridge that comes back over to Tacoma. The bridge back is a toll bridge and when we crossed it was $6 for our car. You can find video of the collapse on Utube. The first picture I'd of the rebuilt bridge that collapsed, the 2nd is on the way back with Mt. Ranier in the background.Read more

    St. John's Bridge, Oregon

    July 26, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

A unique bridge in the town of St. Johns , Oregon. The pictures I have seen online I would definitely try to see this bridge at night but either way, it is a must see bridge. There is no parking for the bridge so you cannot park on site to view. We just drove through so I have no knowledge of the town.Read more

    Nye Beach, Newport, OR

    July 27, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

We drove into Newport the day before these pictures were taken. We went to the historic area the night before and ate at Mo's which claims the have the best clam chowder. It had a touristy dinner feel and the chowder was below average. We had the halibut fish and chips but the fish was greasy. The dessert was the best part, marionberry cobbler. The next day we walked the beach and it was chilly and windy but beautiful. The 2nd pic shows how the wind effects the sand on the beach. The 3rd pic is the view from our dinner on the 2nd night. We ate at Georgies and every table has an ocean view. The attire is casual. We were given warm bread when we sat down that was so good. We then had clam chowder that was amazing!! There was large chunks of clam and creamy broth. I had the breaded shrimp, there was 6 and they were huge! When I bit into the shrimp they snapped and were close to an inch in diameter at the largest point. I only at 5. My husband had the halibut fish and chips which were so fresh and flaky. For dessert we had the marionberry crisp which again as awesome. Definitely try anything marionberry in Oregon.Read more

    Yaquina Head, OR

    July 27, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

This is a state park that costs $7 and the pass is good for 3 days. There is an observation area which is the 1st pic and we saw a whale. There are man made tide pools as well, but I have no pics. There are also trails which we were unable to walk due to my husband's back. Further into the park is a lighthouse that they offer tours of the inside. The 2nd pic is the lighthouse, we didn't tour the inside.Read more
