    Blue Hill Reversing Falls

    The Bay of Fundy, located between the eastern point of Maine and Canada, can have a 20-40' difference between high and low tide. This causes a phenomenon called 'reversing falls'. Maine is one of the few places to get to see this. In Blue Hill, a 12' difference causes the ocean to flow backwards against the current into Salt Pond at high tide. We stayed about an hour. Of course the guys had a blast skipping rocks. In the last picture you can see the river current in the ocean.Read more
