    Met our guides and group for a walk in old town and a bike ride around a park and up a hill. Enjoyed a thunderstorm with a brief rain. Views from Park Suma Marian were spectacular. E bikes rock going uphill.Read more

    island hopping day two

    We took a boat to Bisevo to you Blue cave, hike across the island to a spectacular bay for lunch and a swim. Then back to island Vis for kayaking and swimming.
    The entrance to Blue cave required us to duck and sunlight bounces off the sand and thrust the very blue water into the cave. BeautifulRead more

    Just arrived on next island, get to do some swimming and lunch before biking to dinner 😋
    Swam in ocean and pool, walked into town and now prepping for the 28km bike ride to dinner at the winery on the other side of island.Read more

    Island Korcula

    Catamaran ride to another island, gorgeous day. Spend some time exploring old city and lunch then off to hotel. Then wee did a fabulous 3 hour kayak trip through the harbor , across the strait to a small island and back across to our hotel. So beautiful, bay was like glass and could see to bottom, so blue it looked unreal.

    Dubrovnik

    We arrived yesterday and went out for a dinner of local specialties, capon beef and fish.
    This morning was a walk of the old city walls. Beautiful. And very unexpected for me. Breakfast at city walls was a great start.Read more

    Funny little place

    So moved to otherside of town and have a room with a view and a garden to sit in. Nice people, only 3 rooms but only 3 blocks from bus and sea. Too bad it is all stairs to bus but will figure that out on Tuesday when i head back to Split.

    Just finished a 5 hour kayak explore around several small islands perfect weather and perfect dinner.Gelato and capaccino plus sitting by seaside watching for the ferry back to Dubrovnik
    Madecit back and sat on my terrace looking at the city lights having a cheese filled pastry and beer for dinner. Great end of beautiful day .Read more

    Experienced the local bus

    Took bus into old town, walked all over and the place. Then hiked up to gondola for panoramic overlook. Great day since a bit cooler and finally a breeze. Walked back down to old town for lunch of risotto with beets, apple and walnuts very nice. Back on bus to my part of town bought a snack and beer for dinner. Will try island of Milje national park if weather holds for tomorrow

    Mijet National park

    Two hour ferry to island, beautiful weather when arrived. toured park and storm came up as leaving. Found safe harbor(restaurant) with a nice meal. Ferry in an hour.i hope, very windy right now, about 30 mph. has been so calm sailboats have been motoring ,now anchored and riding out weather.
    Ok back at my funny room. So now can say I will never go on another catamaran ferry heading into 34 mph winds. It jumped, bounced and shook for 1 hour of a 2 hour ride. I thought we were not going to make it. Temperature dropped a. mess also. Luckily I opted not to swim today. Great clouds though.    Read more

    Heading to Split

    On the bus from Dubrovnik to Split through Bosnia. Currently at border patrol. Another country.

    Turns out Bosnia looks like Croatia. Plus we were only in the country 10 minutes

    Well the trip from Dubrovnik to Split usually takes. 4 1/2 hours but not today. The bus had troubles going up hills, in fact I know I biked up faster. Oh well so we were 3 hours late, we got here. Found my room, found a grocery store and bought a beer

    Plitvice lakes National Park

    So left Split at 7:30 and had a very scenic drive in an awesome coach to the park. Spent 3 hours walking the park and then a meal at a local restaurant. Fantastic wrathet, great group and fun guides. Back in Split at 8pm and I found my way back to my room. It is a room and bath in a 3 story building and I only have 3 steps to get to my room. Croatia seems to like hundreds of steps and my knees are very grateful for this break. Plus nice large soft bed and Ac. Extremely quiet and about a 10 min walk to old town and harbor.

    last day in Split

    Heading home early tomorrow so today is,going to be walking around the old town of Split. The room I am staying at gave me a voucher for breakfast and had to laugh, it is at a Mexican restaurant. but coffee is great and omelet was tasty. Taking a break after walking all over town.

    Frankfurt airport

    So really going smoothly today. Flew Split to Zagreb which was totally fogged in. But no delay. Then on to Frankfurt and here for a couple of hours then a nice long flight back to Houston. Hated to leave Croatia. It was wonderful and still alto to see there. I would highly recommend it.Read more
