Day 1 in the holy city of Varanasi

The train ride was quite an experience and we actually enjoyed it. Now to begin our adventure exploring the city and its people (and temples)..
First came a walking tour of downtown Varanasi. We will be back for the markers. Next a visit to a silk and cashmere merchant before a trip around the shores of the River Ganges - cremations on open fires included. Another learning experience.
