Day two done. Denmark done. I never really managed to like Denmark. It has always been the country that you have to drive through to get to Sweden or Norway.

I got up quite early, packed up everything, had a little breakfast in the lounge room of the camping and chatted a bit with the two English guys I met yesterday. They had just put their tent up as I arrived. Initially I thought they were hikers, but then I saw skateboards. They had just started their 500 mile tour around Danmark on skateboards. Yes, that is not an autocorrect. You can find out about them if you google “Split Lip Adventures”.

Back to normality: cycling. Today started grey and uninspiring. I took a little detour to avoid the straightest road I’ve ever seen on a map. Eventually got on it anyway and enjoyed the slight tailwind. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go to Kopenhagen. Soon I remembered I don’t like big citties and as I was figuring a way out of there, visited the mermaid and set course further North. Actually that part of Danmark was quite nice. All the way to Helsingor. Still I couldn’t help but wanting to leave Denmark. So I took the ferry to Sweden a day early. It is quite amazing how much nicer this country is. The cities are nicer, there are more people enjoying the outdoors and there are bars and restaurants everywhere.
Just no campsites. I drove north looking for a place to camp in the wild, but there are a lot of estates and no areas for camping. I stumbled upon a bed and breakfast and there was a room free. I could not resist.
Now I’ll wait for the sauna to heat up and then call it a night.
