    Sleeping in the forest

    29 kwietnia 2023, Włochy ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

About 6 to 7pm Lupo started to stop again and again. He is tired. And I wanted to pass the wind mills and walk to the next fountain or a good water source on the way. Because I haven't had any and have been really thirsty. Lupo needs water after his dry food or even at night. The map shows a short detour to a fountain and lake. A house next to it. Probably a Bivacco. No idea. But still 5-6km to walk. Suddenly the SI leaves the forest road down and.... We can listen to the water from a creek.
A pretty flat place deep in the forest with some small off-road paths intersecting here.
We stopped for drinking and having dinner. And I finally decided to stay here. Normally I avoid staying next to water, but seems not to me that this small creek makes the surrounding much colder. It doesn't feel like it now. And if the tarp will have more condense tomorrow morning ..I will see.
Mostly no wind right now and I think the forecast predicts no rain. The raining starts tomorrow during the day.

And now, pitched the tarp and setup for the night and rest, I remember Benedict.
Benedict from the Coop supermarket today. We've started to chat. He is s black African fellow, caring for everything in and around the supermarket. Collecting the trolleys together or helping the customers to carry their heavy goods into the car.
He started to talk in english and asked about the journey. During the packing of my goods into the backpack and charging the phone, I was sitting on a bank next to the entrance of the supermarket. I have seen him again and again helping people.
And now in the thinking, I still can smile about his friendliness and happiness. Even having not a high end job and still enjoying it. Talking with people and helping them. He has had a really nice aura. Nice to meet these kind of people!

Same with the Franziskaner monk from Villagio Limina. But that's another story by itself :)

And now, I can listen to the owl again. So often in the evening/night the last days in the forest.
