Budapest

We have arrived in Budapest, where we will settle in for a week and celebrate Christmas. I didn't realise that the city was the result of the unification of the cities of Buda and Pest in 1873. Makes sense...

It's a bustling place and not as pristine as Vienna, but I like it. It has a bit of a Soviet feel to it, really interesting

Not to mention the food is most excellent, and so is the beer. And a lot cheaper than Vienna.

It's a fair sized city as well... Clever me booked the accommodation a few hundred metres from the train station. Only to discover our train arrives at a different station that's a couple kilometres away 🙄. I will either be really fit or disabled by the end of the week.Read more
