Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve is a big part of Christmas celebrations over here. Everything shuts around 2 in the afternoon and it's party time.

We put up our Christmas tree (branch) and a few token gifts. Which is cool, because whatever gifts we get we have to drag around Europe for the next year.

As predicted, it's warmed up to about 7 degrees and the snow is pretty much gone, but still feels unreal to be here.

We had an early dinner at the same Hungarian restaurant we went to the other day. Melissa had recommended it to us and the food was awesome. An authentic home style Hungarian dinner. Nicky was especially pleased... I think this is the first time in years she hasn't had to cook a Christmas dinner.

After the meal, we wandered home back along the Danube. The river is quite impressive. At 500m wide, it makes Australian rivers look like creeks.
