Heading for Ankara today, the capital of Turkiye. But first, we stopped at a couple of archaeological sites in the Çorum province.
First stop was Yazılıkaya, Turkish for "inscribed rock", which was a sanctuary of Hattusa, capital of the Hittite Empire.
Next we stopped at Bogazköy-alacahöyük National Park, which has the remains of the city of Ḫattuša itself. It is a massive site encompassing 2,600 hectares.Read more
