Day Trip to Kotor

Today we went on a day tour to the town of Kotor, just across the border from Croatia in Montenegro. We stopped at the village of Perast, where we hopped on a boat to take us out to the small island Czytaj więcej
Day Trip to Korčula

Today we embarked on a day tour up to Korčula island. On the way, we stopped at the little town of Ston where they have been harvesting salt since Roman times. Then a quick boat trip to the island Czytaj więcej
Hvar and the Blue Cave

We jumped on a ferry to spend a few days in Hvar, a lovely island town just south of Split. From here we visited the famouse "Blue Cave", which was absolutely beautiful. We had an unexpected surprise Czytaj więcej
Split and Mostar

We caught the ferry from Hvar to Split, an interesting old town on the west coast of Croatia. We wentt on a quad bike tour exploring the mountains and valleys near the borders of Croatia and Bosnia. Czytaj więcej
Driving North to Zadar

From Split, we hired a couple of cars and began exploring the coast north to Zadar, visiting a number of interesting little towns on the way. Zadar had an interesting art piece on the beachfront, a Czytaj więcej
Plitvice Lakes

Today was another bucket list event when we drove up to Plivitce Lakes to hike along the numerous lakes and amazing waterfalls. An absolutely amazing place with beautiful scenery everywhere you look.
Istria

From the Lakes, we drove to the Istria peninsula to explore the numerous old towns both on the coast and inland. Some really picturesque towns, but the highlight for me was visiting the Roman Czytaj więcej
Slovenia Caverns

Next we drove across the border into Slovenia. Our first stop was to visit the Škocjan and Postojna caverns in the southern part of Slovenia. Perhaps the best cave complexes I've seen in all my Czytaj więcej
Lake Bled

Our next port of call in Slovenia is Lake Bled. What an absolutely beautiful place, hard to take a bad photo.
Vintgar Gorge

From Lake Bled we did a day trip to Vintgar Gorge, an absolutely beautiful place. Lots of low hanging rocks, so we had to where headgear, but well worth the trek.
Slovenian Alps

From Lake Bled we drove over the Slovenian Alps to see the high country, what a beautiful place. Wish we'd been able to stay a while rather than just drive through, but we are running out of time.
Ljubljana

The last stop on our Croatia and Slovenia trip is the beautiful city of Ljubljana. It was a quick visit it for us as our Schengen visa had come to the end, so we bid farewell to our friends to move on Czytaj więcej
