    Pentagon

    June 6, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

We were fortunate that Bill’s brother, Mike, was in town and free on our DC day so we got to have lunch with him at his office - the Pentagon.
Fun to see him in his digs and get to see the Vietnam War corridor and Mike’s favorite - a corridor with enlargements of the sections of a huge WWII tapestry from England. And lunch in the Navy Dining Room.
Hard to believe I (Dawn) used to live just up the street and take the metro from the Pentagon downtown to work every day. Feels like a million years ago - it has changed so much!

  • Wolf trap. John Legend

    June 6, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 82 °F

This was an amazing evening. Wolf Trap is beautiful. And this was John Legend with the orchestra. Telling his stories and his musical history. He was so sweet and gracious and funny and sexy. And that voice just fills the place to the rafters. A beautiful night.Read more

  • Wxpn fail

    June 7, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Bill has listened to WXPN for years and was so excited to do one of their Free at Noon concerts finally.

….so we get to the wxpn studio….and today they moved the concert to Ardmore Hall. A half an hour away!

    So sad.

  • Cheesesteak battle

    June 7, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Geno’s versus Pat’s. We are in Philly so we had to go. Bill went to get a Geno’s wit whiz and I got a Pat’s wit American.
Pat’s had more steak and also more bread. But not much flavor.
Geno’s had softer bread and the whiz made it juicy. Not as much steak tho.
In the end, we decided Geno’s for the drip factor.
We were one of at least 4 other couples we saw doing the same thing. Lol. Not so original.

Also - that was more than enough cheesesteak. Prefer flavor to that heavy sandwich. But when in Philly….

  • Start of walking history tour

    June 7, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 86 °F

Well….if we had known how it was going to go, we may have bailed right then. But we stuck it out with Kyle- who was really a prick. lol.

Saw the outline of the first President’s home (not the White House until it was moved to DC) and a quick speed by the Liberty Bell.Read more

  • Redding Terminal Market

    June 7, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

This is a unique combo of food hall and farmers market... but probably more on the food hall. We had some piergi, a pretzel with jalapeno sausage in it, and some amazing jambalaya with gumbo on it.

  • Love City

    June 7, 2024 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

While hanging at Love City, we watched this fun dating show. These two were hilarious to watch him try to impress her and her big 80s hair. Just good people watching.

  • Historic Clark Park Farmers Market

    June 8, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 79 °F

Always love a good farmer’s market. This was in a more urban neighborhood. We never figured out why there is a statue of Charles Dickens there.

Also - peas. It was interesting to see shelled peas at both markets we went to. Just not something we see in Texas.Read more

Ya gotta see Ricky, right? I should have taken a picture of the line to get right up there and take the posed photo.

  • Human Robot

    June 8, 2024 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

Cool brewery and lots of folks watching the Phillies in London. The Poe’s Sandwich Shop sandwiches were no joke! We each ate half and saved the rest for our tailgate.

Odd little alter stuck in the brick.Read more
