Paine Grande

Monday October 5th.

Such a different day! Only a 5.3 mile trek on an easy trail. Great weather and epic views. After showers, a nap and wandering downstairs at our Grand Paine Refugio, who comes by but Rodrigo and Victoria. Their boat was cancelled so to make their glacier tour hike they had to get up at 3:30 in the morning and walk a total of 24 kilometers only ending up at Paine Grande at 3:30 pm. But it was worth it. We escorted them to their boat in high and celebratory spirits.

Tonight, gazing at the sunset and waiting the stars, we chanced upon John and Layla, on their honeymoon, and going to Atacamba while we are there. Pretty good day all around.Read more
