33. Stop: The Three Sisters

Auf dem Weg nach Waitomo wollten wir eigentlich zum Waikawau Tunnel Beach, aber dann entdeckte Florian spontan bei GoogleMaps einen Ort namens 'Three Sisters' und wir entschieden, dort einfach mal einen Zwischenstopp einzulegen. Ein absoluter Glücksgriff!
Wir kamen gerade rechtzeitig an, so dass wir noch einen Parkplatz bekamen und waren zeitlich so passend, dass wir auch gleich zum Strand gehen konnten - denn der Strand und die Felsen sind nur bei Ebbe zugänglich.
Das Wetter war absolut traumhaft und es war schon cool, auf dem schwarz-glitzernden Sand zu laufen. Allerdings mussten wir zwischendurch auch echt aufpassen, uns nicht die Fußsohlen zu verbrennen, denn der Sand hatte sich extrem aufgeheizt.

Übrigens waren wir so begeistert, dass wir den anderen Strand dann einfach ausließen und direkt nach Waitomo fuhren. 😂

On the way to Waitomo we had actually planned to go to Waikawau Tunnel Beach, but then Florian spontaneously discovered a place called 'Three Sisters' on Google Maps and we decided to just stop there. It turned out to be quite a lucky strike!
We arrived just in time to still get a parking spot and had the perfect timing to be able to go straight to the beach - because the beach and the rocks are only accessible at low tide.
The weather was absolutely fantastic and it was really cool to walk on the black, glittering sand. However, we had to be really careful not to burn the soles of our feet because the sand had heated up extremely.

By the way, we were so excited and satisfied with this beach that we just skipped the other beach and drove straight to Waitomo. 😂Read more
