    Es hat gegossen, wie aus Eimern. Haben uns aber nicht die Laune verderben lassen, eine Burgruine besichtigt und durch die Hafenstadt geschlendert und das beste Pesto ever gefunden. Zurück gings dann nur noch halb bekleidet, da das Wasser aus Schuhen und Unterhose wieder raus kam. Zu Hause trocken gelegt und es uns gemütlich gemacht.Read more

    Cinque Terre

    Cinque Terre ist die Bezeichnung für 5 Nachbargemeinden an der schroffen italienischen Riviera. Die jahrhundertealten Küstendörfer sind bekannt für ihre bunten Häuser und die terrassenförmig an den Steilhängen angelegten Weinberge. In den Häfen liegen Fischerboote vor Anker und die Trattorien servieren Meeresfrüchtespezialitäten und Pesto, die berühmte Sauce der Region Ligurien. Der Wanderweg Sentiero Azzurro verbindet die Dörfer und bietet dabei Panoramaausblicke über das Meer.Read more

    Cinque Terre

    Wow. Getting off the train and discovering the interesting layout and stunning coast line was amazing. We caught glimpses of the coast from the train but next moment we were going through a tunnel. Villages are all steep, some very very steep. The townsfolk must be so very fit! Photos don't do the region justice. We took the train to explore some of the small villages, but again there were so many people. After exploring the climbs and streets of Monterosso, Jamie and I took the ferry to view the coastline and then walked over the cliffs from Vernazza to Monterosso. It was very steep but the beauty of the region made it worthwhile. We almost found ourselves in the movie called Sisters in Italy to be released on Amazon Prime. As we ate dinner they filmed a walk by with the main characters.Read more

    CINQUE TERRE WITH THE FAM!

    They’re finally here!!! I got to spend the weekend in Pisa and cinque terre with my family and I had the best time. It was so beautiful and I couldn’t get enough. The weather held out for us even though we were expecting rain. I loved the hiking trails (until I sprained my ankle but that is no surprise if you know me). The landscape was absolutely gorgeous. I can’t imagine being a person during medieval times deciding this was a good spot to build a few towns. I suppose they were situated at an advantage from attackers arriving by boat. The food was also fantastic. I don’t think I have ever had fish as good as it was here. Not sure if the food in cinque terre was just better than Florence or if it was because I could afford something more than 15 dollars (thanks mom dad and grandpa!) Overall I think we all had a fantastic time and I’m excited to share these photos because I just couldn’t put my camera down!Read more

    Mit dem Boot nach Portovenere

    Gestern hab ich früh um 9 Uhr angefangen, den Schalter zum Ausflüge Buchen geöffnet und anschließend hatten wir unsere wöchentliche Sicherheitsübung.
    Danach hatte ich erstmal frei bis 12.30.
    Nachdem wir unsere Vorbereitung für unseren Ausflug getroffen haben, sind wir nach draußen und haben auf alle Gäste gewartet die mit uns fahren.
    Wir hatten super schönes Wetter als wir mit dem Boot von La Spezia nach Portovenere gefahren sind.
    Glücklich waren wir auch als uns die Delfine den Weg zeigten.
    Als wir dann angekommen sind, hatten wir eine kleine Führung und danach 2 Stunden Freizeit…da gab es erstmal ganz unauffällig einen Aperol 🤣
    Gegen 17 Uhr ging es zurück zum Schiff, Gäste abladen und noch schnell Protokoll schreiben - ab zum Feierabend.
    Heute ist Seetag angesagt und damit auch nur 4 Stunden produktives Arbeiten und Präsentationen im Theater halten angesagt.

    Cinque Terre

    Arrivés à Monterosso al mare pour deux jours de randonnée dans les Cinque Terre !
    Y a pas à dire, le hors saison c'est merveilleux! En dehors des villages nous étions encore presque seuls au monde! (La grève des trains italiens y est peut être aussi pour quelque chose ..)
    Itinéraire: Monterosso - Vernazza - Corniglia - Manarola - Riomaggiore le 1er jour puis Riomaggiore - La Spezia le 2eme jour (plus grande ville avec son port militaire)

    Cinque Terre 2.0

    Es ist einfach so beeindruckend schön, dass wir noch einen 2. Footprint brauchen.
    Für Nachahmer: wir hatten eine wunderschöne Mopedtour, mit dem Camper wäre es mangels Parkplätzen knapp geworden und in der Saison wahrscheinlich auch mit dem PKW. Man kann aber alle Dörfer auch mit dem Zug erreichen, zB. von Levante aus alle 20 Min. Heute fielen aber auch einige Züge aus. Wie bei uns Zuhause.😉
    Und die, die noch gut zu Fuß sind können hier traumhafte Wanderungen unternehmen. Die Dörfer sind durch Wanderwege untereinander erschlossen und für den Rückweg bietet sich ja die Bahn an.....    Read more

    Cinque Terre

    Als Cinque Terre (fünf Gebiete/Lande) wird ein ca. 12 km langer klimabegünstigter Küstenstreifen der italienischen Riviera nordwestlich von La Spezia bezeichnet.
    Die Dörfer Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola und Riomaggiore sind eine harmonische Verschmelzung von Natur- und Kulturlandschaft. Seit 1997 gehören sie zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Wir erkunden die als Nationalpark geschützte Gegend heute in umgekehrter Reihenfolge mit dem Moped.
    Alle Dörfer sind eigentlich ziemlich ähnlich in der Landschaft verankert, und doch hat jeder Ort seine liebenswerten Besonderheiten.
    Zwischen ca. 250 und ca. 1.350 Einwohner, Corniglia hat allerdings keinen Zugang zum Meer).
    Oberhalb der bunten Ortschaften, die sich alle an steil abfallenden Küsten befinden, werden Wein, Zitrusfrüchte und Oliven auf den hier typischen Terrassen angebaut. Wunderschön anzuschauen sind auch die zahlreichen Trockenmauern.
    Kehrseite der Medaille:
    die Region beklagt natürlich leider auch einen starken Übertourismus - Leitsatz:
    "4 Mio. Touristen pro Jahr auf 1 Quadrat-Kilometer".

    Cinque Terre

    We left Milan and took a 3hour train to Monterossa which is one of the 5 cities on the cliffs along the Ligurian Sea in Italy. We are staying in Monterossa. I am not feeling good today. I made myself walk the Via Dell Amore this morning and came back to the Hotel Amici. It's a nice hotel with comfy beds and a beautiful view from the 4th floor roof. I'll post pics later.     Cinque Terre

    An early start to take in the five villages of Cinque Terre which is just what the name means (five lands). We had a spectacular day. First, a train to La Spezia which we expected to be a quaint little town but alas it’s quite big and quite ugly. A shame. It was apparently once beautiful but got bombed to the max and rebuilt at speed with minimum budget. This is the gateway to the Cinque Terre. You can hike between them but we would have seen less and frankly, we weren’t up for it on top of all we’d been doing! Train it was. We tried to keep ahead of the crowds - starting at the second and returned to the first at the end of the day via ferry but by that time it was manic all over! They are fascinating places - for goat people! And not in the new sense of the word! They have restored the terraces up behind the village further up the hills, for grapes and olives mainly - as was originally started by their ancestors over a thousand years ago.
