    The Blue Mountains are a mountain range, whose foothills begin approximately 60 km west of Sydney. Large parts of the Blue Mountains were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, mainly because of the diversity of eucalyptus trees. The leaves of eucalyptus evaporate the eucalyptus oil, whose fine mist lies over the mountains. This fine mist is responsible for the blue color in daylight which gave the Blue Mountains its name.Read more
