Chaillac, France

Today we decided to take a 'day off' and just chill by the lake. Our first choice was lake Bellebouche, but they don't allow dogs, so we tried our luck at Chaillac instead. Best of all-it's so closeLeia mais
Le Blanc

We had to refuel our car and do the groceries, so we decided to visit Le Blanc. After miles and miles of sunflower fields we arrived. It seems, no matter how small, every town in France owns a castle.Leia mais
Montmorillon

Charming and quiet town, apparently known for books, and where the writers got inspiration. There is an old bridge connecting the two parts of the town center. We crossed it and went up to the churchLeia mais

Montrésor

From one romantic town to another, our next stop was Montresor. There was peace and quiet while we were strolling down the river and looking up to the castle. I mean, what else could you ask for?
Châteu de Montpoupon

Unusual position for a castle - by the road and oddly not on top of a hill. The view of Chateu de Montpoupon when you drive by is magnificent(so is the castle).
Montrichard

This was our drive-by, as you can tell by the pictures. A few ruins and a church didn't really wow-ed us, so we went by pretty quickly :)
Châteu de Chaumont

Amboise

One of the last castles on our route today. So many of them! And all are really magnificant. We did stop for a short walk to the city center and buy some macaroons 😊
Chenonceaux, France

Our final stop couldn't be better. Castle on the river, I mean c'mon, who would've thought of anything like that! (actually it was womens and not kings request for once) Stunning view on the end ofLeia mais

Another charming village and our last stop before Albi. There is again a castle (ruins this time) on the edge of the cliff backed by a cozy village with narrow streets and many cats 😻 Lovely.
Albi

We took a longer drive but avoided the highway to get some spectacular scenic views. A great driving road if you are into that kind of thing this is one of the roads to be on.
