TravelerThere is equipment they set up that record the bat noises and tell how many and what types. I am not sure what else they do, but they are not handling the bats. Just observing them, I think. We have a volunteer who is a bat biologist. He is also an expert in freshwater mussels and helps with monitoring those. He has different skills than Phil or I do.
TravelerJust spoke to Craig the biologist volunteer. He said they identified 8 different kinds of bats last night. The whole thing will be repeated in July after the bat pups are born to check populations.
