Ready to launch after today's walk.

Today we walked 8.28 miles and we walked the 5.44 of that in 2 hours and 19 minutes. The terrain was hilly, but Phil did fine. We walked to the next town and took the bus back.

We check out of our apartment in Villanua tomorrow and will spend the evening and night at Canfranc Estacion in the luxury hotel. We're getting our last laundry done this afternoon.

Speaking of laundry, we were able to replace Phil's sport shorts which are his sleep clothes and the only second pair of pants he had. There's a sports store here that rents snow skis, bikes, etc. The owner is going out of business for retirement, but he had one last set of men's shorts in Phil's size 50% off. Yay!Read more
Laurie ReynoldsWell, the money you saved on the shorts won’t pay for the night in the hotel, but I think it is a splurge well worth doing. I spent a night there last year, and the staff is so nice and not snooty. The common area is just beautiful. I’ve paid more for an interstate hotel in Colorado in high summer season when our plane was delayed and we had to find something last minute. I’m not a cocktail lover, but there is a cocktail bar at the end of the main floor on the north end that looks wild and crazy. Send pics if you go! I had a good meal in the café. Are you also going to splurge for the Michelin-starred restaurant in the railroad car behind the station? Have a great time.

TravelerYes, we've paid more, too. Might get a cocktail but probably wont eat there. They sent me an email and you have to have a reservation at any of their restaurants. We will eat in town before checkin and probably be asleep before dinner service even starts!
