The camp hosts just came by to brief us on bears. Apparently there is a mother black bear with two small cubs that frequent this campground loop. We keep extra food in the bear box and keep thingsRead more

TravelerSteven almost came face to face with a momma bear and cub on Thursday, in the town of Boulder, CO. Fortunately his coworker spotted them and hollered at him to retreat.
TravelerIts harder for animals with habitat loss. Glad Steven was OK. Hope the bear and cub were, too.
TravelerNever met a bear, but did come face to face with a lynx one time. Sorry about stove issues. How long does it take to recharge that little fridge with the panel?
TravelerDepends on how sunny it is. We have the fridge plugged into a battery. When the sun is very bright, it charges twice as fast as plugging into the wall. When it is hazy, not that great. It took an hour to add 10% to the battery that day which isnt great. It was enough though.

TravelerI will also say that we bought the fridge to keep Phil's medication cold. The food is secondary, but nice not to have waterlogged ham and cheese sandwiches! Also we can keep steaks and chops, butter, etc.
