Great flight to LA with Virgin, quickly through immigration and arrived at the Holiday Inn at Hesperia by 5pm. Diner at Richies Diner on Route 66.
Day 2 Calico

Travelling on Route 66 past Elmers Bottle Ranch to Barstow. Short stop at the rail museum then on to the ghost town at Calico.l
Day 3 Mojave SpacePort & Red Rock Canyon

At the back of the hotel on Mojave is the Space Port - home of Virgin Galactic and a commercial jet Boneyard. Then onto Red Rock Canyon. Evening in Bakersfield.
Day 4 Sequoia

Drive up from Bakersfield with the park fully open this trip. Nice time see the trees in the sunshine this time. Excellent dinner at Mimi's in Fresno.
Day 5 Yosemite

Day 6 San Francisco

Nice drive from Oakhurst to city centre then a ride on the trams to the Tram Museum, China Town and Pier 39. Our La Quinta hotel near the airport seems nice. Interesting sign on the pool by my room.

Long day today as the road was closed causing a detour. All the usual spots visited including Monterey and Big Sur through to McWay Falls.
