1st day on the road. Started at Chicago in heavy snow. Breakfast at Lou Mitchells then off along the road to Joliet, Willmington, Pontiac and Atlanta.

Started off at Collinsville headed through St Louis to the Meremac Caverns. Then on to Cuba and Lebenon before ending our day at the Rail Haven Hotel in Springfield.

Long drive through Texas and New Mexico to the Blue Swallow Motel. Best Motel on the route. Stopped at Texacola and the Cadillac Ranch and the Mid Point Cafe.
Santa Fe

Lovely sunrise at the Blue Swallow then on to Blue Hole and Santa Fe. Staying at the Econo lodge which looks a good find. Out in the evening with Kim, Nick & Mike to a live band at Jakes.
Holbrook AZ

Drive across the desert from Santa Fe. Taking in Grants and Gallup before a tour through the Petrified Forest National Park. Arroved at the Wigwam Motel on time due to a hour time zone change.
Monument Valley

Stood on the corner at Winslow AZ. Detour to the Meteor Crater then off to Monument Valley. 290 miles plus trip round the park. Looking forward to Dinner at the View Hotel.

Travelled from Barstow to LA. Went to the Bottle Ranch then to the hotel. Afternoon visit to the Chinese Theatre and Griffith Observatory.
