    Arrived at the hotel, very swish room on the 22nd Floor with lovely big bed. Off to explore around the hotel this evening. Lovely sunset from the room. Off to the roof terrace on the 38th floor for G&Ts - helps with the malaria. Then Dinner.Read more

  • Bangkok Tour

    8.00 am start for our tour of the Royal Palace, Buddha museum and Golden Mount. Don't need to see any more temples. Been on the sky train, river boat and tuk tuks.

    One stop on the sky train then a courtesy shuttle to the local shopping mall. Dinner at Coffee Beans. We seem to be struggling a bit with the ordering. Ordered starters. One main arrived - taken away. One starter arrived. 2nd coming I think. Other main arrived - taken away. Lots of bowing going on. 2nd Starter has now arrived. Getting there. 😂Read more

    After a superb massage at the hotel we are off to visit the flower market. 5 stops up the river at Memorial Bridge then a short walk to the undercover Market.

    After breakfast we headed out to the pool area on the sunbeds. 2 pools and a short walk to the private beach.

    Another trip on the shuttle bus to the local town. Surprisingly few places selling ice cream so McDonald's Sundaes will have to suffice. Back to the hotel to catch the sunset.

    Quick trip into town to pick up some medicines, a quick coffee then back to the hotel for a massage. Pimped out taxi from the hotel 400 bht then shuttle back. Raining but still a nice temperature on our veranda.Read more

  • Arrived Elephant Hills

    A long 3 Hour drive from our hotel to start our jungle experience. Settled into tent 8, our home for the next 3 nights. Lunch starts at 12.00 and our first experience a river trip is at 2.00 pm with elephants experience to follow.Read more

  • Canoe Trip

    First activity after lunch was a 1 hour canoe trip. We had a paddler so just sat back and admired the view. We saw monkeys, spiders and a large cobra swimming in the water near the boat😳

  • Elephants

    Next activity a trip to see the elephants. We got to feed them and learnt about their welfare in Thailand.

  • Mangroves

    Left the elephant Hills camp site at 9. 00 am to drive for an hour towards the coast. We then headed off through the tributaries of the river on a speedboat to our Junk moored in the river. Time for a swim then lunch prepared on board.Read more

  • Kayaking

    After lunch Helen went kayaking through the mangrove channels then back on the speedboat to more mangrove channels and wildlife. Snakes, birds, monkeys and lizards seen. Finally back to the camp via a local market and 2 magnums. Mum bought some more 5xl trousers😳😳😳😳Read more
